Terms of use

What this site is, what it is not, and the commercial relationships behind it.

Using the directory

Camping.me.uk is free to use and needs no account. You may browse, search and link to any page here. Please do not attempt to scrape the site wholesale or run automated traffic that degrades it for other people — if you want the underlying data in bulk, take it from OpenStreetMap, which is where ours comes from and which offers it properly.

Accuracy, and the limits of it

Listings are derived from OpenStreetMap and are maintained by volunteers. They vary in completeness and can be out of date, incomplete or occasionally wrong. A campsite may have closed, changed hands, changed its facilities or stopped taking tents since it was last surveyed.

Always confirm directly with the campsite before travelling. We are not a booking agent, we hold no availability and we cannot confirm prices or opening dates. We provide this directory in good faith and free of charge, and we accept no liability for a journey made on the strength of a listing that turned out to be wrong. Nothing here is a contract between you and a campsite.

Affiliate links

Our shop, and the gear sections of our guides, contain affiliate links to retailers including Amazon, Decathlon, GO Outdoors and eBay. If you follow one and buy something, we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

What that money does not buy: commission has no influence whatsoever on the campsite directory. No campsite pays to be listed, to rank higher, or to be excluded. Listing order is decided by how complete the underlying open data is and by nothing else, and there is no mechanism by which anyone could pay to change it. Gear recommendations are our own opinion; a retailer cannot buy a place in them.

Licensing and reuse

Campsite data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence, and must be attributed as such if you reuse it. Photographs belong to their photographers and are used under the Creative Commons licence shown beside each image; those terms are between you and the photographer, not us. Our own words — the guides and editorial — remain ours; please link rather than republish.

Links out

We link to campsite websites, retailers and other third parties. We are not responsible for what is on those sites or for their privacy practices. See our privacy page for what following an affiliate link means in data terms.

Getting something corrected

Errors in a listing are usually fastest to fix at source in OpenStreetMap, which corrects them for every service that uses that data. Anything structural — a broken page, a county in the wrong country — is ours, and we would like to hear about it via the contact form.
