Every other directory tells you about the campsite. We also tell you what is within walking distance of it — measured, not guessed, from the open map of Britain.

How we measure it

Each month we read the complete OpenStreetMap extract for Great Britain and Ireland and, alongside every campsite, note the pubs, railway stations, beaches, shops, viewpoints and footpaths around it. Distances are straight lines from the pitch to the feature, so a lane that doubles back will make the real walk a little longer.

Nothing here is paid for or self-reported. A campsite cannot buy its way onto the “pub within walking distance” list; it is there because there is a pub within a kilometre on the map.
