Tents

From two-person backpacking shelters to family tunnel tents that survive a Welsh August.

The single number worth checking is the hydrostatic head — the water column in millimetres a fabric holds before it leaks. 2,000 mm is the practical floor for British weather; 3,000 mm and above copes with a wet week. Pole material matters almost as much: fibreglass is cheap and splinters, aluminium flexes and survives.
